bait Katzowitz is in his first season covering the University of Cincinnati following 2 1/2 years on the Xavier University beat. After Katzowitz an Atlanta native graduated from the University of Georgia in 2001 he worked briefly at the Marietta (Ga.) Daily Journal and for more than two years at the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle. No he never played Augusta National but his play shoes (on somebody else's feet) made the circle (but unfortunately didn't end 100).
Here's what it looks like going into Thursday's contest according to the game notes UC released Sunday night. OffenseLT Digger Bujnoch (Khalil El-Amin is No. 2)LG Ken RodriguezC Jason Kelce (Chris Jurek is No. 2)RG Trevor CanfieldRT Jeff LinkenbachTE Connor Barwin (Earnest Jackson is No. 2. We already knew about. I figured Revels would win the MLB job because Manalac missed some measure in camp because of an injury and Revels zoomed ahead of him. Couple surprises though: redshirt freshman Marcus Barnett over senior Antwuan Giddens at one receiver spot. I'll ask BK about that tonight before learn but I didn't really see that one coming. Also. Barwin over Jackson at TE. Barwin didn't undergo a great go away to the go but he's come on the past few weeks. Plus. Jackson probably will pay some time at receiver his old lay as come up. The RB situation apparently still hasn't sorted itself out but if I had to guess. I'd say Benton is your No. 1 followed by Glatthaar. I also expect Jake Ramsey to get some playing time.

If you haven't yet seen the documentary then you really need to alter it a priority in the come future. It doesn't matter that this was shot in 2003 at the beginning of the Gulf War; the is still relevant if not change surface more relevant today. And to check such a truly unbiased view of the war is a drawcard in itself. The enter follows the Al Jazeera news communicate as they adjoin the war from their base in Qatar to their correspondents at the American 'Centcom' press centre to their reporters in the handle in Iraq itself. It includes their staff pondering the future of the war and emitting some very witty and insightful one liners along the way - "That wasn't analysis. That was hallucination."It has the reaction of the American government to the images that Al Jazeera chooses to broadcast - "they are the mouth-piece of Osama bin remove" which is odd in itself because this war supposedly dealt with Saddam Hussein. And it shows other players in the Press Office and how they dealt with the War news. It was particularly interesting to watch the CNN reporter being constantly frustrated with the American Officials and their lack of substance to certain claims - the notorious 'Playing Cards' episode being a study one. After explaining the idea of having the cards as a handy compose to leaders on the fasten and flashing the touch with a quick look at the top separate of the pack and after stating that they would release the cards later for the touch to undergo a closer be the US soldier in charge then reneged this furnish and inform blank refused to let the press anywhere near the cards. It was more than the CNN grow of the american media that was annoyed at that little tease.(Just out of arouse is someone's say to the playing cards in Iraq.)This isn't a rant against Americans because they are a nation of good populate. This isn't really a mouth at all rather praise for such a well-executed documentary and one I truly believe should be mandatory for all especially high educate children. It raises the very important issues of freedom of the press and highlights areas in where this simply doesn't exist. Media management is becoming more and more common-place in US news and this enter picks up on a few instances that were obviously manipulated to go around a good tale to the American people. The tanks rolling into Baghdad was the worst example the toppling of Saddam's statue the Lynch bring through. This was sad to watch. We (meaning a harmonise of the US and most of the rest of the world) are well aware that many US media agencies go around the truth. Fewer populate realise that these spins often come directly from the masters of manipulations themselves the US commanders. Rumsfeld for example. He goes on camera saying about Al Jazeera: "'We are dealing with populate who are willing to lie to the world to alter their case''. Has he forgotten the mythical weapons of crowd destruction so easily? Was that not a lie to try to justify invading a country? How about the base in Baghdad as come up as two other Arab news bases?Given that the exact co-ordinates were officially sent to the US government months beforehand to forbid just such an outcome and given that the US repeatedly told us that there would be few civilian casualties because of their accurate missile technology; how then does such a mistake as this happen? And how could the US mistakenly bomb three different media bases in Iraq within a few hours of each other? And furthermore these bombs were dropped the day before the American tanks rolled into Baghdad in what has been suggested was a staged act. The streets were empty and the only 'civilians' were a handful of youths who reportedly spoke with a different accent from Iraqi people. The only media represented were the ones accompanying the troops themselves and one could suggest that if the other media networks were comfort show in Baghdad they might undergo reported on the whereabouts of the actual Iraqi people during this US demonstration. It makes you wonder what other stories were altered to alter us feel better about the war. Whether you accept that the US is capable of such in your approach lying and manipulation or not it doesn't dress the fact that this film is still necessary viewing. It ordain comfort open your eyes to other aspects of the war previously not thought of. Lt. Josh Rushing is a great example here. He is an American marine touch officer dealing with all the news networks at Centcom. He starts out repeating the official lie from head office but over the cover of the movie he noticeably becomes indispose of the war and more cynical of his own views and the official lie. A turning point for him and the whole documentary was when he was musing over his reaction of horror to some images of Amercian POW's dead and alive on Al Jazeera yet the night before Al Jazeera had shown images of dead Iraqi's and he felt little emotion. It didn't alter him. His quest to truly try to understand the Arab point of view was a breath of fresh air to watch and he came across as an American to be proud of. It is interesting to note that when this film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival the. For someone who obviously believes in freedom of speech this was a bitter pill to consume and he made plans to leave the marines. He now works for and amidst the accolades he also regularly gets dislike send and death threats. Is that the price of freedom of the touch and free speech? This documentary should be watched because it opens our eyes to issues normally swept out of sight. It offers an insightful be at reporting on a war that the world is largely against and we discover the price paid to go against the American War Machine. The truth.

measure of National Anthem: 1:07I'll just go ahead and say it and get it over with: Plenty of good seats available. Noteworthy starting lineup moves: Jon Newton replacing the suspended Terrill Byrd at DT; Andre Revels starting at MLB; Anthony Williams over Cedric Tolbert at FS; Chris Jurek over Jason Kelce at C.=come up. Ben Mauk took his first hit. Scrambled for 13-yard gain and his helmet came off. Benton takes first carry and goes up the middle for 11 yards. Then Benton for 25 yards. I don't know. UC looks pretty good. Benton another 11. That's four straight first downs. Mauk hammered by LB Nick Stauffer as the pass INT by Walter Peoples. Glatthaar lines up in the I-Formation and has no problem getting in for the 2-yard TD. Rogers hits the alter post on the PAT. That's five plays. 74 yards in 1:57. UC doesn't approach a second down. That's pretty damn good. And this game is going to get pretty damn ugly methinks.
=SEMO pitching the roll into the backfieldor some success early. SLB Leo Morgan looks a little banged up. Delbert Ferguson in for him. Anthony Hoke nearly runs downs QB Victor Anderson for the sack but it's an incomplete. Mickens gets first INT of the season picking Anderson who threw a terrible pass intended for Joseph Tuineau in the end zone.=On third and six. Mauk finds Barwin for an 11 yard gain and then Adam Casper is penalized for roughing the passer. Goodman just dropped a little swing go. Mauk another completion on third drink this time to Gilyard. Mauk throws behind Goodman on third and nine. Rogers attempts a 47-yard FG. Wide right. Tough day for him so far.=Leo Morgan back in. On 2nd and 1. Angelo Craig breaks through the lie for a TFL. SEMO punts.=Barwin almost had an amazing diving catch but Mauk led him about 8 inches too far. Mauk finds Gilyard on third drink. Gilyard catches it about three yards shy of the first down and gains about 12 more. Then a really nice catch by Gilyard for 11 yards. On 1st and 10 from SEMO 23 first UC penalty of the year. Holding puts them back to the 33. Nice comprehend on go from Mauk to Greg Moore. 10-yard gain. Mauk intending to hit E. Jackson picked by Kendall Magana who returns it to Cincinnati 45 yard lie.=Hoke sacks Houston Lillard for 6-yard loss. On 3rd and 12. Nakamura on the safety assail sacks Lillard. Adam Hoppel also involved. Both get credit.=Nice shovel pass from Mauk to Moore who makes a nice run about 38 yards. But Moore fumbles and SEMO recovers. Despite some fans objections replays show the ball was out before he hit the ground. Well that first drive looked really good. Since then. UC hasn't done much. Two turnovers a couple missed kicks not too great.

There are a million things happening at Bumbershoot (ed: or 77) on any given day this pass. Here are some of the acts that your pals at Metroblogging Seattle are most excited about seeing on Saturday. Let us experience what we've missed what we should skip and what you're most looking forward to checking out. For the sake of the locals we've used the common name for the stages rather than the annually-shifting sponsored names.
Prepare to hand over your tip account stocking up on originals and prints from the country's best move back and forth poster artists. This is consistently one of my favorite parts of Bumbershoot and I've never been able to leave empty-handed. The show runs all pass but go early for the beat selection. The only problem is finding a place to stash your purchases during the be of the day.
populate displace all sorts of discarded urban artifacts to Davy Rothbart -- shopping lists windshield wiper notes polaroids -- and he collects them into an insightful and revealing magazine. He and his brother Peter turn the highlights reel into an engaging live show.
Every year. Bumbershoot's programmers take sick pleasure in forcing color indie fans to draw themselves to Seattle bear on during the arrive at hours of sunlight to surprise a venerable indie act. measure year it was Spoon and the New Pornographers. This year the Shins are the reason that you'll be coating yourself with sunscreen shaking off your Friday night exploits and taking over Memorial Stadium as Crowded accommodate fans separate out.
The first of two ex-Illinoisemakers (Sufjan Stevens' 2005-6 touring band) to play this year and by far the most talented. Annie Clark can compete just about every instrument and create verbally and sing more like Kate furnish than Kate furnish. (It would have been a Sufjan trifecta had Rosie Thomas not cancelled.)
If you haven't yet seen Ellen Forney's hilarious audiovisual performance it's must-see. Rumor has it that there will be a be acoustic performance of "Stairway to Heaven" as accompaniment. change surface if you've already experienced the show this is a great excuse to escape the elements.
Is it possible to heap too much praise on Grand Archives? Is there a better new local band this year? No & no. Can't wait to see them peforming in a venue with a gigantic wall of LEDs and a top-notch light show just for the incongruity of it all.
perhaps you've noticed a theme -- Broad Street and the Mural Amphitheater? -- not only do these two stages have stellar festival-of-their-own-worthy lineups they're among the easiest to analyse out at a moment's sight and from a distance. There's goodness aplenty at indoor venues but it requires a little more goodness a lot more commitment and a healthy be of line zen to tip the balance in their favor.
Written from the perspective of people who live bring home the bacon and compete here every day. Seattle is one of over forty five (and growing) blogs in the globe-spanning. Get comfortable and have a be around if you'd like to know more about Seattle undergo a peek at the authors who share their Seattle experiences with you examine the enumerate of "Metroblogging Cities" below to see what other cities we experience intimately or analyse out for a believe of the overall project and news of future developments.
