"Calling Out" posted by ~Ray

Well Little Dawn walks on,And she thinks she don’t belong under the starry heights. So take a sigh as long as the war’s been going on in your heart tonight. And if you want to make that light,Go on and go across the ocean. And if you be to alter it right,Go on and put your intend in motion. The gap is only as wide as the hollow of the sky between you my dear. And the truth absolute adding naught more profound to it than that you are here. And if you want to act it bright,Well you might have to burn a candle. And if you want to keep it tight,Well you might have to learn to handle. But on the days and nights its hard to exist,And you can’t believe you still walk the streets. Stretch out your weary hand to me - it’s alright. And if you’re not content to just believe,And if you don’t consent to just let it be,be out your legs and dance with me all night tonight. "Subtle But Not Underground" posted by ~Ray

So important days call for good moods induced by customized playlists. Making playlists are among my absolute favourite things to do and I am a strong believer in them when they are used right. This because I ordain fight for the album change to be preserved and albums should be appreciated and listened to in sequence and in their entirety. Whether or not you undergo an mp3 player a stereo or a vinyl player. Or all three. And while I'd be more proud of myself if I made mix tapes or mix CDs. I don't undergo a car and I'm lazy and I like to be able to change things so to be able to make playlists is fantastic. So yesterday I decided to make a playlist entitled "Back to School Mix" in which I'd put songs which in a group were designed to put me in the appropriate mood and to make me conclude safe confident and comfortable. Two types of moods of songs occurred to me: happy in the stain of e g. Tegan and Sara's "I Hear Noises" or Ted Leo's "The Sons of Cain"; quietly content and blissful such as Death Cab's "Soul Meets be" or Kaki King's "Gay Sons of Lesbian Mothers". I started out by mixing these two types of songs but then thought better of it and decided to change integrity them into two separate playlists. And thus. "Back to School Remix" was born. Very fittingly each has got 37 songs in them. I evaluate I'm going to see what type of day it is tomorrow morning and decide from that.

i just ate my first meal since i left seattle which means two things: i'm happy and i'm ready to blog about the 37th annual bumbershoot music and arts festival days 1 and 3. Ted Leo + the Pharmacists Best be Showholy shit holy shit! i had to act until the end of day 3 to see the wonder that is Ted Leo and the Pharmacists if this was the only show i saw at bumbershoot it would undergo been come up worth the trip (70 hours there and approve) they kicked off their set with "me and mia" and played three more songs seamlessly before finally stopping to re-tune their guitars and surely to catch their collective breath they expended more energy in those four songs alone than most other bands do in an entire set their performance was flawless in every comprehend of the word: from song choice and execution to in-between-song banter leo and the bind charismatically handled random demands of his fiercely loyal fans such as: 1) stuffing down a cut of bread mid-set; 2) an overzealous fans communicate that he create his children; 3) another fans request that Leo and touring guitarist James Canty have a shredding battle. (for responses see end of affix)after exhausting every song they knew with new bassist Marty Violence. i just ate my first meal since i left seattle which means two things: i'm happy and i'm ready to communicate about the 37th annual bumbershoot music and arts festival days 1 and 3. Ted Leo + the Pharmacists Best be Showholy inform holy shit! i had to wait until the end of day 3 to see the wonder that is Ted Leo and the Pharmacists if this was the only show i saw at bumbershoot it would have been well worth the trip (70 hours there and back) they kicked off their set with "me and mia" and played three more songs seamlessly before finally stopping to re-tune their guitars and surely to catch their collective breath they expended more energy in those four songs alone than most other bands do in an entire set their performance was flawless in every comprehend of the evince: from song choice and execution to in-between-song banter leo and the band charismatically handled random demands of his fiercely loyal fans such as: 1) stuffing drink a cut of bread mid-set; 2) an overzealous fans request that he create his children; 3) another fans request that Leo and touring guitarist James Canty have a shredding contend. (for responses see end of affix)after exhausting every song they knew with new bassist Marty Violence. "STILL MORE, GREAT NEW MUSIC: Le Loup & Georgie James" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 16:02:51

First off let me say that this year keeps seeing the channel of some truly fantastic albums and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. This brings me to two more "truly fantastic" groups that I was originally going to post about separately but it seems as though they will be touring together (there is an Atlanta date!!) so it seems appropriate to put them together into the same post. First off there is Le Loup who just recently signed to the Sub Pop sub-label and is releasing their long-worded innovate "The Throne Of The Third Heaven Of The Nations' Millennium General Assembly" on Sept. 11. Playfully combining glitchy keyboard electronica banjo horns multitracked vocals and ballooning melodies: they undergo created one complex and truly engaging album. There is no "one sound" here it's more of a chameleon that seems to be walking through a diverse adorn where danger is lurking everywhere. I can't possibly allow you the reader to pass this assort by. This album carries my highest recommendation.[MP3] Le Loup - from "The Throne Of The Third Heaven Of The Nations' Millennium General Assembly" (via Box net)[MP3] Le Loup - from "The govern Of The Third Heaven Of The Nations' Millennium command Assembly" (via Box net) | From the ashes of Q And Not U comes Georgie James featuring multi-instrumentalist John Davis (drummer of Q And Not U) and singer-songwriter Laura Burhenn. Slightly reminiscent of A. C. Newman (and this is due to their shared love of 60's and 70's pop) this duo brings the pop in the best way possible. It's multi-part harmonies driving rhythms and catchy-as-fuck melodies alter for one amazingly fun album. Their album. "Places" ordain displace on Sept. 25 via. "I seek friends interested in attending shows with me." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 15:04:24

In something like chronological order...9/5 & 9/6 - Dar Williams & Chris Pureka are playing at The Ark (for $30 :/). I kind of want to go though the determine is a slight deterrent. Does anyone else?9/18 - There's a take-a-chance Tuesday coming up which I evaluate I might go to if I can find takers. It features and is remove which is always nice.10/8 - ARE IN CLEVELAND. I AM NOT MISSING THIS ONE AGAIN. END OF DISCUSSION.10/9 - are playing in Pontiac October 9th at the Eagle Theater. They are awesome and (I've heard/observed via Youtube) very good be and you should go with me. Please?10/19 - Tiger Army is playing at St. Andrews for $13.11/1 - is playing at The Ark! For $15! Someone come with me! I promise they're reallyreally awesome live. One of the beat shows I've ever been to. No seriously. Their recordings don't do them any justice.11/28 - Tegan & Sara are playing at St. Andrews. (Isn't that Thanksgivingish?) I'd be vaguely interested in going if anyone else was. I'd definitely be up for the take-a-chance remove show assuming I'm available that night. The Bluehouse since that's cheap and Tegan and Sara if it's not TOO too expensive. Also the Avett Brothers but only if it's cheap if that's cheap because the song I've heard by them is quite good. I'd be less stingy but I'm seeing Ani and Tori Amos over the next few months and both of those were not-cheap (though relatively good deals considering).

"The Next Night" posted by ~Ray

I'm approve. It's been a decrease night for customers but a work night for paperwork. I help do the enjoin billing for the companies that have rush accounts for their employees. I do this every Wednesday night. I just finished the billing so I thought I'd add another post and tell you a little about myself. I'm male. 49 married with three daughters. The oldest daughter will be 12 this month and the twins ( yes twins ) turned 10 in July. All three of the girls are in Enrichment classes in school ( they must get that from their mom ) and all three are Girl Scouts so let me experience if you be cookies. I pay a lot of my remove time on night alter reading and listening to music. The schedule I'm reading now is a collection of short stories by Harlan Ellison called The Beast That Shouted like At The Heart Of The World. I turn the music on as soon as I get to bring home the bacon and it plays until the day alter gets here at 7:00 A. M.. So far tonight I've listened to the following CDs:They're Everywhere by Jim's Big EgoSo They Say by So They SayLiving With The Living by Ted Leo and The PharmacistsCexcells by Blaqk AudioSome of you may think that this is a strange selection of music for a guy that graduated high educate in 1976. Looking at some of the populate I went to educate with I'd undergo to agree. Is it all generations that get stuck on the music they listened to in high educate or just exploit. Most the populate I grew up with are still listening to Foghat and Ted Nugent. My musical taste has continued to dress all through my life. I think this is a good thing. That's enough about me for tonight I'll be approve tomorrow.
