What growth has occurred has been funded by a $6 trillion increase in household debt and a $3 trillion bring up in federal debt which is unsustainable. The $5.6 trillion difference between how much our economy has grown and how much our citizens and our federal government undergo borrowed to alter it grow is now largely overseas in the hands of our trading partners mostly the Chinese. And those overseas chickens undergo started coming domiciliate to roost. As a result the contract with the lay categorise has been broken -- but there are lots of things that can be done by Congress and by American industry and its chief executive officers to regenerate that contract.
The Horizon Project concluded that the government must sight ways to encourage companies to create high-value-added jobs in the U. S. invest in workers' skills and create advanced research-based products and services. Many countries do this through special deals with individual companies; the Project proposes that the U. S act instead by linking in part the corporate income-tax evaluate to the productivity of a corporation's U. S employees. The corporate tax rate would be reduced for above-median performance in each business sector.
