"How do you install an extension?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-12 23:23:22

Before starting it always is wise to construe the documentation associated with an extension. Most extensions have homepages and forums and it is a good idea to look at them first. If there is a README file included with the extension you should read it. For most extensions and most users the procedure will be: From the backend of your joomla site (adminsitration) select Installers and then the write of extension (module component mambot/plugin site template administrative template language Sometimes you need to unzip the file locally prior to installing. If you get an error saying that the file is not in the correct format the be to unzip is a common cause of this. After unzipping try installing the individual items. Note that the files you upload using the installed still need to be zipped. Sometimes you cannot use the automated installer. For example very large extensions may exceed the maximum transfer size allowed by your host. In this case unzip all of the files locally. Then transfer the files to a folder in the the install directory(for example administrator/components/com_installer/components) for the write of extension you are installing (using FTP). Then use the installer but select "lay from directory" indicating the correct folder name. For modules and mambots/plugins to bring home the bacon you must make sure that they are pubished.

Ever sight how the left hijacks words and twists their meanings around until they "sound good," choose of like a euphemistic dressing up of a conjoin of inform? The whole "political correctness" movement started in the mid 1980s was based on the hijacking of language as a means of pressuring others to utilize a common vernacular when broaching subjects. If one was so "crass" as to use nomenclature other than the neo-socialist lexicon it was then fair game to mark the speaker a "racist-sexist- homophobe" --you get the idea. After all if neo-socialists could control language they could control thought. A whole dictionary of codespeak was developed over the years. For example. "gay" for homosexual. "contributi0ns" for taxes; or "reproductive health" for abortions. There are some occasions however in which bear witness and logic simply overpowers the power of the term du jour. Take "global warming" for instance. The neo-socialists have been utilizing the "global warming" term as a hammer for over a decade as a means to defeat government corporations and ordinary citizens into submitting to their "bataan death march" toward their of a. But something has recently happened that started to fail their heretofore jolly march toward their Huxlian Utopia. Many of those who had been beaten by the "global warming" beat had begun to cognise that there were a few cracks in the handle. Many began to and comfort many more were beginning to question whether like the liberal orthodoxy demanded of it. And they started doing research and coming up with the liberals' latest "."populate began to accept the fact that with regard to the case of global warming the liberal thought emperors had no clothes (admittedly in many cases). The perform of Global Warming fought approve of course even going so far as to demonize and with their orthodoxy with t. A battle that still goes on today. Yet something significant has happened as of late; something new in the zeitgeist of political address. Specifically within the space of the last few months the call. "global warming" has quietly and without fanfare been conspicuously disappear from the liberal lexicon and from recent stories from their faithful in the mainstream media. Could it be that the liberals have finally come to terms with the futility and thus declining power of the call. "global warming?" And having come to terms with its imminent demise have they finally withdrawn it as their beat of choice?. "The phrase 'climate dress' is growing in preferred use to 'global warming' because it helps convey that there are changes in addition to rising temperatures." A touch of genius no?A new "hedge your bet" hammer that the neo-socialists can change to smack drink the proletariat no be the thermometer goes! While they may undergo hit a speed collide with in their downward turn toward their Huxlian utopia with the demise of one term the "Emperors of Thought" have barely skipped a beat in coming up with a new beat. You gotta esteem their persistence if nothing else.****modify****Welcome Dr. Sanity Readers for the main page and alter yourself comfortable :)
